Summary and Main Purpose:

The role of the Development Coach is to coach and support the development and progression of our learners on their apprenticeship programme. To support the delivery of the required standard within work-based settings, delivering effective and engaging sessions via teaching and learning and a coaching approach. This, along with regular support and assessment visits to ensure continuous development, growth and achievement of learners allocated on the caseload.

Key Accountabilities:

• To build relationships with all stakeholders involved with the learner journey

• Deliver and facilitate assessment and training that encourages accelerated learning and results in new knowledge and skills being applied into the workplace.

• Evaluate and modify training delivery as a result of delegate satisfaction and key stakeholder feedback.

• Complete the required number of in-company reviews required for each apprentice, supporting them to implement the new knowledge and skills learnt.

• Engage and coach the learner’s line manager to provide adequate support and guidance needed by the learner during the working day.

• Manage and support the learner to collect the necessary evidence, both during the review visits, to ensure progression for their qualification, including, Functional Skills where applicable and to ensure achievement of the recommended milestones.

• Monitor and review learner issues on a regular basis, taking any necessary action to limit the number of early leavers from the programme.

• Manage and complete both business and personal administration within given timescales i.e. delegate satisfaction results, expenses, review documents, reports etc.

• Ensure knowledge of all subject areas including technical training and competitors (other training companies) is kept constantly updated by way of self-development.

• Any other duties reasonably requested by the line manager.

Key Requirements - Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE level grade C or above including Maths & English (or equivalent)

• Relevant occupational qualification

• Recognised teaching qualification at level 3 or above

• TAQA Level 3 Assessors Award or equivalent

Experience:

• Management experience within industry (minimum 2 years)

• Relevant occupational sector experience, and/or current updated CPD

• Experience of delivering standards within work-based settings

• Driving Licence (required)

Skills and Knowledge:

• Knowledge of Government Funded training

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, oral and written

• Excellent IT knowledge and skills including using electronic portfolio systems, Microsoft Teams and other packages

• Current knowledge of industry requirements and challenges

• Time Management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

• Ability to work with the minimum of supervision as part of a remote team

• Ability to motivate, coach and support learners

• Proven track record to influence people

• Ability to develop delivery/curriculum resources

• Flexible approach to working hours
