Summary and Main Purpose:

To inspire and motivate a caseload of butcher, baker and fishmonger learners, facilitating their learning and progression through interactive and engaging learning and assessment activities, supporting continuous development, growth and achievement.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Plan and facilitate well-structured, high-quality learning experiences that are well-matched to learner need, promote rapid learning and result in new knowledge and skills being applied in the workplace.
  • Motivate and inspire learners by establishing positive and respectful working relationships, using interactive and engaging approaches to teaching, promoting timely achievement and enabling positive progression.
  • Adhere to assessment plans and apply appropriate and fair methods of assessment, providing constructive verbal and written feedback that ensures learners know how to improve, thereby supporting rapid progression and achievement
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of individual learning and progress through the programme, providing swift support and intervention for those learners who start to fall behind.
  • Support the learning process through the use of learning resources, such as those on Fuse and ISP, supporting the development of independent learning skills.
  • Provide effective information, advice and guidance to learners, employers and other relevant stakeholders at all stages of the learner journey.
  • Maintain safe learning environments, effectively promoting Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Prevent, and ensuring learners are aware of strategies for staying safe online.
  • Ensure inclusive learning environments, effectively promoting equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and British values and supporting learners to apply their understanding of EDI and British values in the workplace.
  • Teach English and maths functional skills qualifications up to and including Level 2, making effective use of initial and diagnostic assessment to promote progress, and support learners to effectively apply their maths and English skills in the work context.
  • Enable learners to share responsibility for their own learning and progression, enabling them to set challenging goals, regularly reflect on their own progress and formulate precise short-term targets that support their progression towards their challenging goal.
  • Where appropriate, liaise regularly with the Learning Support Coach team and support SEND learners to accommodate and/or overcome individual barriers to learning.
  • Maintain effective links with employers, engaging and coaching work supervisors to provide good levels of support and guidance and facilitate appropriate and effective workplace on-the-job training.
  • Contribute to and participate in quality improvement activities, such as self-assessment processes, internal verification procedures and responding to learner feedback.
  • Consistently demonstrate the Remit Brand Values and understand the relevant client culture and values, incorporating these within programme delivery.
  • Take responsibility for keeping abreast of appropriate sector and educational developments, including industrial updating and participate in appropriate training and development activities that support your performance as a Dual Professional. Identify and highlight opportunities to develop and improve the business further

Qualification, Experience & Knowledge:

  • Good standard of English, maths and ICT or equivalent qualification
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to achieve a teaching qualification
  • Strong IT knowledge & skills

Key Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Educated to GCSE level grade C or above including Maths & English (or equivalent)
  • Computer Skills (ECDL or equivalent in Company training)
  • Relevant occupational qualification
  • A1 Assessor Award (or willing to work towards)
  • Teaching qualification (or willing to work towards)

Experience:

  • Experience in delivering training and support
  • Relevant occupational sector experience, and/or current updated CPD
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications
  • Maytas system including Maytas Online/Offline
  • Assessment processes and evidence capture

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Government Funded training
  • 2 years experience in 1 of the 3 Craft competencies: Butchery, Bakery & Fishmonger
  • Good communication and presentation skills, oral and written
  • Good general IT awareness
  • Time Management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work with minimum of supervision
  • An ability to motivate and support learners
  • Proven track record to influence people
  • Experience of writing reports and training material
  • Ability to travel to locations throughout the UK as required
  • Full valid driving licence
  • Prepared to stay overnight at locations as required
