Automotive Internal Quality Assurer

Location: Hybrid role with regular travel to Derby Academies (near Pride Park)

Summary and Main Purpose:

To support quality improvement activity, providing internal verification and assessment and leading the successful preparation of learners for EPA, securing a high percentage of higher grades.

Key Accountabilities:

• Lead on QA Strategy to ensure meet AO, regulatory and Remit Policy
• QA across all delivery and assessment types including mock and RFG
• Analysis of EPA outcomes, retention, sampling outcomes to flag trends/risks and inform improvement activity
• Sector Reviews – and completing observations and monitoring visits (standard of delivery and competency)
• IQA Curriculum – KSBs met, assessment effective and will support the achievement of the higher criteria
• Verifying and confirming assessment decisions (risk based according to sampling plan covering every DC and learner) and provide constructive feedback to DCs and feedback records
• Quarterly Standardisation and disseminating updates
• Maintain an actions log and ensure actions completed
• Monthly Quality Report – outcomes, themes, progress against actions
• Developing and cascading programme assessment materials (resources, schedules, High Grades Road maps, documentation, and providing exemplars).
• Coaching/Guidance/Training/Mentoring new colleagues – compliance ESFA, EPA, AO
• Delivering TAQA/Assessor and Verifier units to new DCs and on request
• Lead SOA Process and documentation
• Maintain staff development records (competency/industrial upskilling/training logs) and support RMs with recruitment
• Lead and prepare for EQA Visits and ensuring any actions addressed
• Leading on Quality Improvement Activity outlined within the Sector QIP

Qualifications:

• Functional Skills Maths, English and ICT Level 2 (or equivalent)
• Relevant occupational qualification in Heavy and/or Light Vehicle or similar. Electric Vehicle up to Level 4 would also be a bonus.
• A1 / V1 Awards (D32/D33/A1/V1/TAQA)

Experience:

• Experience of delivering successful apprenticeships that result in timely achievement and a high percentage of high grades at End Point Assessment
• Experience of managing efficient assessment processes and evidence capture
• Relevant occupational sector experience, and/or current updated CPD
• Competent user of Microsoft Office applications

Personal Qualities and Attributes:

• Knowledge of Government Funded training
• Good communication and presentation skills, oral and written
• Good general IT awareness
• Time Management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Must be able to work with the minimum of supervision
• An ability to motivate and support learners
• Proven track record to influence people
• Experience of writing reports
• Ability to travel to locations throughout the UK as required
• Full valid driving licence
• Overnight stays as required
