EPA & Programme Support Manager

Location: Derby Academy

Summary and Main Purpose:

Overall accountability for the coordination and facilitation to drive the achievers for the designated programme and supporting with the skills and progression for Automotive learners.

Be the first point of contact for the Programme managers to drive the progression of the account with both the employer and the learners.

Take ownership of the life cycle of EPA’s ensuring they are managed in a timely and compliant manner to a high standard.

Work with internal and external stakeholders, being the first point of call for any programme related queries and support with learners progression and follow up calls.

Monitor and support with the timetable queries, and support with the implementation ensuring it runs smoothly.

To work with external stakeholders such as EPAO’s and other awarding organisations to ensure that EPA’s are timetabled and resourced appropriately and to a high standard to ensure the best possible achievement and progress for learners.

To produce detailed, constructive and supportive feedback/analysis to enable progress of the Technical Trainers from a Teaching and learning perspective.

Support with RFG’s, booking resits, Functional Skills booking and invigilation when necessary

Key Accountabilities:

Provide additional information, support, advice, guidance and training to all colleagues within Automotive to ensure that EPA requirements are understood.

Act as the central and single point of contact for both internal and external programme managers

Work with the internal quality assurance teams and colleagues to ensure that both curriculum and delivery is reflective of EPA requirements for achievement and progress.

Promote and share good practice with colleagues.

Monitor, track and regularly report on performance and quality in association with Automotive Gateways and EPAs for the business, SMT and Board

Effective use of KPIs and management information to ensure that learner progress in effective and external success benchmarks are exceeded.

Support the ownership and accountability of retaining learners on programme and to ensure they have a great experience.

To contribute to the development of teaching, learning and assessment policies and procedures.

Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as determined by the needs of the business.

Understand Remit and client culture and values and work in line with these always.

To conduct joint lesson observations and support managers to accurately evaluate their provision and provide effective feedback and targeted improvement activity.

To contribute to the development and use of peer observation, joint professional development, supported experiments and similar, to support the professional development of colleagues, securing good quality education.

To support external partners in developing, implementing and embedding their own strategies to raise the standards and improve the quality of education.

Ensuring the Functional skills of our colleagues are completed within a timely manner and upskilled when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Assessor Award qualification (TAQA Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Full teaching qualification (PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed or equivalent)
  • Level 2 English qualification
  • Level 2 maths qualification

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the Education Inspection Framework.
  • Knowledge of current thinking regarding effective pedagogy, best practice and teaching and learning research and the impact of these on the quality of learning.
  • Experience of delivering good or better Apprenticeship/work-based learning outcomes within the last two years.
  • Experience of conducting face to face and remote observations and making judgments in line with the standards identified in the current Education Inspection Framework.
  • Relevant occupational sector experience, and/or current updated CPD
