Summary and Main Purpose:
As the Operations Director at Remit Training, you will be responsible for the overall operational efficiency and success of our apprenticeship programmes. You will oversee a team of operational teams and ensure that all aspects of our apprenticeship programmes maintain a high-quality experience for the learner, the employer and our colleagues.
Key Accountabilities:
- Direct and oversee operational teams working together with line managers to ensure colleagues are motivated and trained to carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.
- Act as Remit’s main advisor on all issues relating to operational functions and keep abreast of latest legislation and developments to ensure that Remit Training maintains its competitive position.
- Establish a high level of professionalism and credibility, managing strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders and internal colleagues ensuring a culture of continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the operations team in order to foster a positive and collaborative work environment and develop a high-performing team of operational professionals.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Working with relevant managers across the business to ensure we are developing and maintaining high-quality training programmes.
- Evaluate overall company performance by gathering, analysing and interpreting data and metrics, providing solutions and actions plans to identify areas of improvement, owning this through to completion.
- To develop a thorough needs-assessment within business units to understand the operational requirements and needs in order to meet or exceed all Remit, SFA and Ofsted benchmarks and standards
- Work with Business Unit Directors to manage operational budgets to promote profitability and ensure the company has all the resources required to meet its objectives within agreed financial parameters.
- To own the operational responsibility for team performance, highlighting any delivery challenges and ensure consistency of delivery.
- Identify and lead on opportunities in order to improve and develop business further, support business development colleagues to identify new opportunities.
- Oversee the production of monthly client reports for appropriate internal colleagues which analyse and highlight risks to delivery.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the reach of Remit Training. Driving revenue growth and building long-term partnerships with key national accounts.
- Develop and implement procedures to ensure that core operational functions achieve their business objectives.
- Ensure apprenticeship starts are enrolled in accordance with the relevant compliance framework and employer profile.
- Understand Remit and client culture and values and work in line with these always.
- Maintain own levels of CPD in the Apprenticeship sector to inform clients of external factors that might influence activities that are being undertaken or planned.
Key Requirements
Experience:
- Proven experience in a senior operations role, preferably in the training or education industry.
- Experience of leading and developing a high-performing operational team,
- Extensive experience of effectively managing and building successful stakeholder relationships.
- Experience of coordinating, analysing and using data and MI to improve and drive forward business opportunities
- A good understanding of apprenticeship programmes and delivery of training
- Project management experience, including managing multiple projects/contracts to meet defined business objects
- Ability to work in a responsive and pressured environment
- Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude unreservedly
Skills & Knowledge:
- Excellent negotiation & influencing skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Strong analytical and IT skills
- Understanding of Government funded training and/or general funding regimes
- Influencing experience, in order to motivate others to achieve challenging results
