Summary and Main Purpose:

  • To work with each learner and mentor 3 blocks out from Gateway/Mock & EPA. This role will carry out analysis to identify if the learners are behind, on track or ahead. Depending on the analysis, this role will build an action plan with each learner/ mentor to ensure they are on track by the time they reach gateway and prepare each learner and mentor prior to their mocks, to enable successful mock completions
  • Responsible for fostering and engaging an inclusive learning environment that prioritises the importance of every learner
  • It is important that every learner feels valued and they see this role as supporting them successfully through their gateway, mock and EPA
  • Create, alongside their technical tutor a healthy working environment in which learners can learn from each other and create ways in which learners can assess one another during their mock assessments and provide valuable feedback
  • Striving towards becoming the provider of choice and creating tangible actions that focus on ways to increase the overall first time pass rate and increasing the number of Merit/Distinctions
  • Accountable for the coordination and facilitation of achievers for the automotive programmes, specifically supporting with the skills and progression of Automotive learners from 3 blocks prior to completion
  • Support with management of RFG’s, booking resits, and liaising with the Functional Skills team for invigilation and exams where necessary with timely communicating to our Learners and their mentors
  • The role is to help alleviate exam anxiety and stress by ensuring learners are well prepared for their mocks and EPA
  • Deputise for the EPA Manager and cover any annual leave

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with the Internal Quality Assurance teams and colleagues to ensure that both curriculum and delivery is reflective of EPA requirements for achievement and progress
  • Promote and share good practice with colleagues to enable a high first time pass rate
  • Provide a weekly paper for the group leaving the academy within any actions for the Technical Trainers and Development Coaches to pick up before their next block
  • Overseeing and Managing RFG’s, booking resits, Functional Skills booking and invigilation when necessary and timely communicating to our Learners
  • Continuously look for ways to improve the learner experience and increase first time pass rate
  • Effective use of KPIs and management information to ensure that learner progress is effective and external success benchmarks are exceeded
  • Support the ownership and accountability of retaining learners on programme and to ensure they have a great experience during their time on programme
  • To contribute to the development of teaching, learning and assessment policies and procedures
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as determined by the needs of the business
  • Understand Remit and client culture and values and work in line with these always

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 English Qualification
  • Level 2 Maths Qualification
  • Level 3 HGV Qualification

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the Education Inspection Framework

Experience:

  • Experience of delivering good or better Apprenticeship/work-based learning outcomes within the last two years
  • Experience of conducting face to face and remote observations and making judgments in line with the standards identified in the current Education Inspection Framework
  • Relevant experience in a Management/Leadership role
  • Relevant occupational sector experience (HGV Level 3), and/or current updated CPD
  • At least 3 years’ teaching/assessing experience within FE or an appropriate sector that has been judged to be consistently good within the last two years
