Summary and Main Purpose:

The role of an End Point Assessor is to provide independent, fair, reliable and consistent assessment services to Assessu clients working with apprenticeship standards.

This role requires someone who is flexible in their approach to all tasks, with the independence to travel and has exceptional assessment and coaching abilities coupled with the ability to act with integrity and impartiality.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage assigned caseloads to ensure all stages of the EPA journey are completed timely and to the expected standard.
  • Be responsible for the end to end process of accepting a learner through gateway, taking the relevant assessments for their apprenticeship, grading their assessment(s) and ultimately certification.
  • Manage assessments and scheduling, communicate with learners, training partners and employers on planning, assessments, grading and expected standards.
  • Maintain service-level agreements with regards to responding to EPA planning, operational activities, reports and submissions of assessment outcomes.
  • To ensure assessments meet Awarding Organisation standards through sampling, standardisation and training.
  • Ensure all reports and evidence are high quality and recorded accurately
  • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of apprenticeship standards and assessment plans relevant to your area of expertise
  • Be responsible for maintaining your own on-going CPD relevant to both assessment practice and the industry for which you assess
  • Participate in moderation, standardisation and development activities and meetings as required
  • To participate in external and internal quality assurance processes and meetings as required
  • Raise any conflicts of interest, including in relation to the independence of assessment
  • To uphold and promote organisational policies and procedures, promoting those specifically applicable to this area of work and also including the Equality and Diversity and procedures.
  • Any other duties reasonably requested by the line manager.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to GCSE level grade C or above including Maths & English (or equivalent) 
  • Computer Skills (ECDL or equivalent in Company training) 
  • Relevant occupational qualification 
  • A1 / V1 Awards, D32/D33/D34/A1/V1/TAQA Awards 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ assessing experience with robust knowledge of assessment techniques 
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within the specialist vocational sector 
  • Evidenced experience in vocational sector at or above level to which you will assess 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of EPA assessment activities and methodologies 
  • Good communication and presentation skills, oral and written 
  • Good general IT awareness particularly digital assessment tools 
  • Time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines 
  • Must be able to work with the minimum of supervision 
  • Experience of writing reports 
  • Ability to travel to locations throughout the UK as required 
  • Full valid driving licence 
  • Overnight stays as required 
