Summary and Main Purpose:**

We are looking for a hospitality specialist who is skilled in curriculum design to develop hospitality learning programmes. If you are experienced in designing a learning experience that excites and engages learners and successfully enables them to master the knowledge and skills that they need to thrive in EPA, employment and life, we want to hear from you.
The primary purpose of this role is to design and develop a sector-leading Curriculum within Hospitality. This will include developing a whole curriculum package, including defining the Curriculum Intent, translating this into a Learner Journey and Scheme of Work, and creating the supporting learning materials, including online learning, independent learning, trainer delivery and assessment resources, and employer resources.
The postholder will be required to interpret requirements (of Standards, qualifications, and employers) and plan stimulating and engaging learning journeys & resources.. All programmes must meet external and legislative requirements including as OFSTED, IFATE, and meeting ESFA funding requirements.
There will also be a need to actively seek feedback from employers, learners, delivery colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure that programmes function and meet expectations, delivering excellence as the norm and actively driving continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities:
- To consult with key stakeholders to define the curriculum intent and design a coherent curriculum, Learner Journey, and Scheme of Work that successfully enables learners to pass EPA and add value to the workplace.
- To take responsibility for the timely creation of innovative and engaging, bespoke learning programmes & resources that deliver a compliant, quality, end-to-end learning journey for the overall learner experience
- To work closely with the Creative Learning Developers and take responsibility for the quality assurance of learning materials & resources, prior to ‘go-live’ for learners
- To work closely with colleagues and employers to ensure that additional opportunities to enrich programmes are explored, including facilitating roll-out meetings, team meetings etc. to receive feedback and recommendations from trainers and further enhance the overall learner experience.
- To actively contribute to the creation and ongoing development of Remit's comprehensive curriculum strategy
- To proactively identify and explore opportunities to enhance Remit’s current curriculum offer, including funded programmes, new markets and wider commercial opportunities
- To actively contribute to external inspection and accreditation of Remit and its learning programmes through participation in inspections and events (e.g., OFSTED, IIP etc)
- To work with colleagues to maximise the use of existing resources for the benefit of learners, actively seeking feedback to drive continuous improvements
- To lead the development of new programmes, including establishing appropriate entry criteria and process; planning, creation and launch of learning resources, including those associated with preparation for accredited assessment / programme output
- To take responsibility for launching and promoting programmes and their content to both internal and external stakeholders
- To actively identify & engage with new and innovative approaches to learning, developing such methods and ideas into Remits learning programmes and content
- To take responsibility for managing own workflow including setting and managing customer / stakeholder expectations (internal and external)
- To take responsibility for developing self to stay up to date with current methods, practice and sector developments
- To promote wellbeing, health and safety, Safeguarding, British Values, Prevent and Equality & Diversity both in practice and through the development of learning programmes and content.
Key Requirements
Qualifications:
- Professional qualification in subject specialism(s) or relevant experience (Hospitality)
- Functional skills maths and English L2 or equivalent
- Full teaching qualification (PGCE, AET, DET, CertEd or equivalent)
- Experience:
- Background in Hospitality & Management
- Extensive experience of designing and implementing learning programmes in a range of styles & settings (apprenticeship, commercial, further education, etc)
- Excellent understanding of current curriculum practice and ability to translate knowledge, skills and behaviours into engaging curriculum content
- Awareness of current regulatory frameworks that overlay to apprenticeships (and other funded programmes) including how they influence programme intent, implementation & impact
- Experience of improving a curriculum area with ongoing continuous improvement
- An understanding of the apprenticeship sector and curriculum
- A strategic awareness of the education and business environment
- Understanding of the use of digital technology in the development of the curriculum
