Remit Training are delighted to be recruiting for a Business Development Manager to support the growth of their IT & Digital Apprenticeship offer.

We are looking for a successful Business Development Manager with a track record in sales and apprenticeships, with the skill, ambition, and relentless appetite for success, not only for themselves, but for Remit and our clients and learners. To be successful, you will have to confidently gain access to the key decision makers and influencers in an organisation across the IT & Digital markets, also being aware of and promoting our other products and services.

This is a field-based role, so travel and being a self-starter with a proven track record in the territory and sector is essential. Summary and Main Purpose:

  • The Business Development Manager will be responsible for targeting new key customers and developing opportunities relating to Remit Training’s IT & Digital Offering
  • Responsible for all stages of the sales cycle relevant to each opportunity, taking a lead role on proposal submission, bid management and all accompanying governance adherence.
  • Responsible for developing strong relationships at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Focusing on Remit Training’s IT and Digital prospective customers, the Business Development Manager will be required to grow Remit’s customer base by proactively pursuing new opportunities with new target customers, developing strong propositions, exceptional relationships at all levels and communicating our growing service offering across all key services.
  • Working closely with the Operations teams, the Business Development Manager will ensure that adequate and appropriate resources are made available to satisfy prospective customer requirements for each opportunity.
  • As part of a growing Business Development team, the Business Development Manager will also be required to work collaboratively with other Business Development, Account Management and Marketing colleagues; supporting them with their own opportunities where and when appropriate.
  • Maintain the high standards of professionalism, customer service and integrity expected by Remit

Key Accountabilities:

  • To grow revenue and identify strategies for future growth opportunities
  • To identify, manage and win key opportunities with large levy clients, micro levy business and SME’s
  • To be responsible for bid management and all accompanying adherence throughout the sales cycle.
  • To manage financial aspects of each opportunity; including developing the opportunity budgets.
  • To lead on proposal writing and presentation production and delivery for each opportunity.
  • Maintain a high and frequent level of contact with key targets at all levels throughout customer organisations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of target customers, businesses, products, challenges and Remit’s competitors.
  • Maintain sales plans and pipeline relevant to each opportunity.
  • Promotion of the Remit Training business within target accounts organisations.
  • To carry out other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs.
  • Identification of opportunities to improve and develop business further.
  • Understand Remit and client culture and values and work in line with these always.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant occupational experience / qualification
  • Functional skills at Level 2 in English, Maths and ICT or equivalent qualifications

Experience:

  • Previous experience of having a portfolio of clients
  • Demonstrable experience in a Business Development or Sales environment; working to, achieving and exceeding targets
  • A proven track record in delivering results through building trust and relationships with other companies
  • Experience of and willingness to undertake travel, meeting clients, prospective clients and attending networking events
  • Experience of presenting ideas, in a consultative manner at the highest executive level
  • Experience in development and implementation of strategic solutions
  • Demonstrable experience of developing deep insight into prospective customers’ strategic growth plans – relating finding to our own product and service offering

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Excellent negotiation, influencing & presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and IT skills
  • Understanding of Government funded training and/or general funding regimes
  • Influencing experience, in order to motivate others to achieve challenging results
  • Extensive knowledge of the business service sector
  • The ability to communicate confidently at all levels and develop long standing relationship with prospective customers, partners and staff
  • Ability to deal with fluctuating workload and prioritise accordingly
  • Ability to travel to locations throughout the UK as required & stay overnight as required
  • Full valid driving licence
  • Working knowledge of the funded vocational market
