Direct Reports: EPA Administrator + Associate IEAs
The role leads and manages the operational performance of the End-Point Assessment team within Assessu, and ensures Internal Quality Assurance activity is robust and that all service level agreements are met.
You will liaise regularly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Assessu delivers high-quality assessments that are reliable and valid across a range of EPAs, and that assessment outcomes are comparable and consistent for all Learners.
This role requires someone who has good project management skills within further education and technical knowledge and understanding of the complexities of End Point Assessments Delivery and Quality Assurance.
Experience working for an awarding organisation or end point assessment organisation within operations and quality assurance is essential. You must be flexible to adapt to changing guidelines, regulations and requirements, have good communication skills and a good standard of written English. You should be confident in your IT skills and use of e-assessment systems and be able to work to deadlines.
Top 4 Major Tasks and Activities:
Manage the day-to-day performance of Assessu to deliver timely End Point Assessment, meeting or exceeding all KPIs and within budget Lead, inspire and co-ordinate the team at all levels to create motivated and engaged colleagues. Ensure Internal Quality Assurance and Compliance checks are completed Ensure Assessu meets Ofqual regulatory and assessment plan requirements in both EPA Delivery and Quality Assurance
Other Key Accountabilities:
- Be responsible for the end-to-end customer contact processes and their associated customer experience, supporting cross company initiatives to drive improvements, improve efficiency and reduce complaints.
- Responsible for the recruitment, training, induction and coaching strategy of end point assessors
- Work closely with HR, L&D and training delivery teams, taking responsibility for the ongoing development all colleagues in line with mandatory requirements Reviewing and defining clearly all centre roles and profiles required within the centre
- Lead an effective resource planning team, ensuring that resource is fully utilised and any EPA demand is effectively covered
- Lead on internal quality assurance and standardisation of assessment materials, the management of End-point Assessors conducting end-point assessments and of endpoint assessment outcomes and results.
- Develop plans and offer insight and knowledge to the organisation on the use of new tools and technologies to drive efficiencies and provide appropriate service to customers. Ensure outcomes of all EPAs are centrally recorded accurately and reported back to employers in accordance with agreed ways of working.
- Champion change and improvements across the centre, drive change and influence future change/projects to support and achieve improvements in the customer experience. Deliver cost efficiencies
- Enhance the quality of customer interactions, ensuring quality assurance, compliance, regulatory and legal obligations are met across all interactions.
- Manage the EPA Administrator to ensure processes are followed and completed within agreed time frames to meet agreed deadlines
- Be responsive to internal and external feedback, evaluations and recommendations.
- Liaise with internal and external subject and assessment experts.
- Confidently analyse and interpret data to inform the reliability and consistency of assessments. Maintain a good working knowledge of apprenticeship standards and assessment plans, and Ofqual’s conditions of recognition Be responsible for maintaining your own on-going CPD relevant to education and assessment practice and the regulatory requirements and conditions to ensure Assessu remains compliant
- Monitor any actual or perceived conflicts of interest, including in relation to the independence of assessments
- Uphold and promote organisational policies and procedures, promoting those specifically applicable to this area of work including the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy
- Any other duties reasonably requested by the Managing Director of Assessu.

Conflicts of Interest
Assessu is subject to regulatory requirements, one of which lays out the responsibilities of the organisation in relation to identifying and managing Conflicts of Interest. It is a requirement that all members of staff within Assessu sign a declaration around Conflict of Interest. They are responsible for informing their manager of any potential or actual conflicts of interest that may occur whilst employed by Assessu.
