Summary and Main Purpose:

As Head of Curriculum and Creative Learning, you will provide the leadership and vision to deliver excellent learner success through the development of teaching and learning, and curriculum innovation. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of our exciting apprenticeship curriculum, ensuring alignment with published IFATE apprenticeship standards, enabling learners to thrive in their apprenticeship, add value to their employers and secure excellent outcomes in EPA whilst developing an ambitious curriculum that prepares learners for employment and future career progression.

You will manage the Curriculum and Creative team, whilst fostering a culture of collaboration and creativity in teaching and learning practices. The successful candidate will be equipped with the relevant skills and experience with demonstratable impact, with an unwavering drive for achieving excellence in curriculum innovation, and the overall learner and employer experience. Practical knowledge of learning management systems to implement new processes that ensure that learners receive a seamless and unrivalled learning experience.

You will have a proven track record of effective Curriculum design and pedagogical approaches that enable learners to successfully acquire new knowledge, skills and behaviours and have experience of people leaderships skills at a senior level. You will understand business requirements and processes, adopting a consultative and innovative approach to interactions with all other areas of the business. You will be seen as an improvement leader across the business areas and will adapt easily to prioritise activities as business requirements change. You will also be comfortable directing and working alongside all colleagues at all levels assisting in taking action to drive the business forward. With a passion for leading change and creating positive impact, you will lead the Curriculum and Creative Learning Team and deliver excellence at all levels. You will also have strong commercial acumen to support new business initiatives, tender and proposal writing and project management skills in order to deliver high quality commercial products on time and to client specifications.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Contributing to the development of Remit’s Curriculum Strategy and leading on its implementation.
  • Management of the Curriculum and Creative Learning Team to develop a high-quality curriculum including an innovative and interactive online learning experience, high quality session materials and resources and a clear delivery plan.
  • Analysing data and feedback from a wide variety of sources to monitor impact and progress towards targets, planning and implementing remedial actions where necessary.
  • Producing monthly reports to illustrate curriculum progress and impact on the learner experience and outcomes.
  • Leading quality assurance activity to ensure the curriculum contributes to a world class experience that is congruent with the business aims and successfully prepares learners for EPA.
  • Liaising with the senior team, providing quality service and support to all business areas as required of the curriculum and creative learning team.
  • Leading the programme approval process and product council, ensuring all new provision is appropriately set up and will provide a high-quality learning experience.
  • Scoping, designing and Implementing Improvement projects to improve the learner and employer experience and shape future business strategy for Curriculum.
  • Project Management of the Curriculum and Creative team to meet the needs of the business and ensuring achievement of SLAs and KPIs.
  • Training, development and industrial upskilling of the Curriculum and Creative team to ensure currency of curriculum team to meet IFATE and sector requirements.
  • Relationship building across the business to ensure a collaborative approach to creative learning, and a shared understanding of the programme intent, implementation and impact.
  • Ensuring Development Coaches/Trainers are trained in the curriculum to ensure effective implementation of the curriculum to support effective implementation and ensure the best possible outcomes for learners.
  • Keeping abreast of trends and developments within education, sector, technology and learning and using this to communicate updates across the business and inform and innovate curriculum development.
  • Supporting new business initiatives, tender and proposal writing and project management skills in order to deliver high quality commercial products on time and to client specifications.
  • Act as a customer liaison, educating the employer in the workings and expectations of apprenticeship standards and offering a consultative approach to other learning solutions.
  • Act as an ambassador for company culture and creation of positive working relationships.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Director Quality and Curriculum considered appropriate for this post.

Key Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience)
  • Computer skills (ECDL or equivalent in company training)
  • Highly skilled user of Microsoft Office applications

Experience:

  • Management experience gained in a senior role
  • Project and programme management experience
  • Management of schemes of change and process development
  • Experience of creation of schemes of curriculum or content at a senior level
  • Creation of business plans and strategy
  • Experience of building stakeholder relationships successfully across a breadth of departments/functions at all levels
  • Confident in talking to and presnting to senior stakeholders
  • The ability to use intiative and identify opportunities
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of education and training
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, oral and written
  • Ability to coach, lead and develop others
  • Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision
  • Strong people management skills
  • Working knowledge and implementation experience of the relevant compliance and business protocols
  • Full valid driving licence with access to a car
